Task
To enhance television viewers' enjoyment of the games your three person design team will contribute to a website that viewers can access prior to and during the television coverage of the 2014 Winter Games. You will need your Wikispaces Log In ID and Password to access the site. (For those of you who don't have wikispaces passwords please see the teacher. The pictures below are from the website) Each three person design team will be responsible for one sport, assigned by your teacher. The design team consists of the following roles:
1) The Sport Analyst describes how the game is played/event performed. How is the winner chosen? (Judges decide? Race against the clock? Race against other participants? Lowest score? Highest Score? etc.) Describe for viewers the nuances that seperate the successful performers from thier fellow competitors. How do the competitors train and prepare for competition?
2) The Broadcast Specialist describes what the viewers need to know about the television coverage.Describe the venue in which your sport will take place. Post the dates and times of your sports televison broadcast. How many medal event are there in your assigned sport? Who are the favorites (individual and team) going into the games? Which individuals and countries won medals in the previous winter olympics? Profile an American competitor and evaluate his/her chances in the event.
3) The Web Page Designer takes the information provided by the Sport Analyst and Broadcast Specialist in incorporates it into a web page. Each sport will have its own page on the class wiki.
Each student will take on one of these roles. But, within each design team, students will collaborate on all aspects of the project.
